Configure Kiosk Display

Virtual Keyboard

The Kiosk Client application is compatible with touch screen displays. When a physical keyboard is not attached to the system, a virtual keyboard must be used to type text into the application.

Windows has two virtual keyboards. The On-Screen Keyboard (OSK) from Accessibility and the Touch keyboard from Typing settings. Applications like the Smart Check-In Kiosk that has input fields for typing information into the screen, rely on the Touch keyboard that automatically pops-up when a user presses an edit control using the touch screen. The Touch keyboard is preferred since it is dismissed automatically when other areas of the screen are touched.

  3. The touch keyboard has an undock button which allows the keyboard to float or be moved around the screen. The previous guest’s positioning is retained when the next guest uses Smart Check-In.
